BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - An arrest has been made in connection with a deadly shooting at an apartment complex in Baton Rouge late Wednesday, Sept. 21.

The Baton Rouge Police Department reported Alvin Allen III, 21, of Baton Rouge, was arrested in the shooting death of Keandre Williams, 25, of Baker.

Police said Allen was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on charges of first-degree murder, home invasion, and illegal use of a weapon.

They added the shooting happened at the Alight Baton Rouge Apartments on West McKinley Street, which is not far from Nicholson Drive, around 11:30 p.m.

Detectives said they believe the victim was visiting a woman at the complex when Allen forced his way into the apartment, shot Williams several times, and then left the area. They added Williams died at the scene.
