Power restored after outage at SU for men’s basketball game

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - A power outage on Southern University’s campus delayed the start of the men’s basketball game for Senior Night on Saturday, March 4.
According to WAFB’s Jacques Doucet, fans were reportedly sitting in the dark waiting for the men’s game to begin. The Southern Jags were set to take on Alabama A&M today at 5:30 p.m.

As of 7 p.m., the power on campus is restored, and tipoff is at 7:30 p.m.
“A breaker issue at the Entergy substation caused the outage. A thorough investigation is underway to access any unseen damage and a more definitive root cause,” said a spokesperson at the university.
