Cory's Smile Story:

My name is Cory Campbell, I'm 29 old. I'm entering this contest because my smile is anything but perfect. I have been wanting to fix my teeth for years. I quit smoking 7 months ago and I thought the extra money I would be saving I could put towards getting my teeth fixed, I was wrong. I have a form of Muscular Dystrophy called Hereditary Spastic Paraparesis. It's a very progressive disease that targets the muscles in the abdomen and hip region. My back and legs hurt on a daily basis. I started showing signs of it when I was 11 years old. I am in a wheelchair now and even though to some people it might be a bad thing, but I think of it in a more positive way. I never let it bring me down. I still do whatever I want to do. I work part time at Benny's X-Press Lube as an Oilbay Tech/Inspector. I've been with the company for 6 years, and since I only work parttime I can't receive any benefits. I have an 8 year old daughter named Hayleigh, I was awarded full custody of her in 2005. She's another reason why I don't let my disability get me down. I hope that if one day she is faced with a hard obstacle in life, she can tell herself, if my dad can do it in a wheelchair then I can do it. I've been having a lot of pain for the past month. I'm not sure which tooth it is, but one of them is hurting. My birthday is on Dec. 19, so this would be a wonderful birthday present. I cannot tell you how much winning this contest would mean to me. Since my income is limited this contest is my only chance of finally getting the smile I always wanted. Thank you for taking the time to read my letter, and please choose me.
